Improve your messaging with Flowlie's AI and group investors in target lists

It's 2024 and if you're about to hit the market fundraising, there has never been a better time to leverage Flowlie. Over the holidays, in between some delicious food and gift exchanges, we have brought two new features to our platform.

First, founders can leverage our fine-tuned generative AI features to improve various aspects of their fundraising messaging. To start, we allow founders to get feedback and suggested improvements on their company description and ICP description. Over time, we will roll out similar features to other parts of your one-pager and deck.

Second, the investor database got a brand new functionality upgrade with the introduction of investor target lists. This allows founders to group investors into various lists and set an outreach priority for each. Gone are the days when you needed to manage a separate spreadsheet just to plan your fundraising process. Check out our explainer video here.

Other new features and updates include:

  • Guided one-pager section descriptions
  • Updated founder onboarding tour
  • Round dilution warnings
  • Various speed and security improvements

Bugs fixed:

  • Deck upload errors are now properly handled
  • Google authentication works as expected regardless of who invited you
  • Copy email button works for all deck viewers

New and improved investor database, expanded round manager, and a a redesigned company one-pager

In less than a week, we'll be sitting around the dinner table sharing what we are thankful for this year. You can probably imagine what we will share: we are thankful to YOU! This is why we have been working hard to improve Flowlie and help you raise your round faster.

You may notice a big change when you log in to Flowlie. This morning we launched v2 of the Investor Database, where you can find contact info and detailed investment preferences for 700+ investors! New investors will be added each week. The vastly expanded Investor Database is a Pro feature. When you upgrade to Pro, you'll also be able to sort investors by fit to tailor the database to your specific company and round. Moreover, you will have access to our proprietary intro-path discovery so you can plan the right intros to the right investors.

We heard your feedback and we expanded the Round Manager to now support uncapped SAFEs and other term sheet rights. We also revamped the Company One-Pager with updated fields, expanded selector options, and a new card layout. You can now clearly describe the product you are building and embed a product demo in a dedicated "Product & Market" card.

Other new features and updates include:

  • Improved new user activation flow and product tour
  • Percent of company sold explanation in round manager
  • New select options for various startup & investor fields

Bugs fixed:

  • Deal status in company detail now shows the right value for all investors

A brand-new founder dashboard, video player in one-pager, a simpler UX, and much more

We blinked and it's already October. Luckily for you, we've been hard at work building new features, improving existing ones, and integrating all your feedback to ensure a smooth and intuitive experience for all our users.

Founders, your app experience now starts at your brand-new founder dashboard. This is the place where you can see an overview of all your stats and learn about the 6 steps you can take to get you started on Flowlie. Over time, we will be adding more widgets to it. Let us know what you would like to see there by reaching out to our team.

Product demos have been a feature that a lot of you took advantage of to share more about what you do with prospective investors. We are excited to share that now those videos play directly on your one-pager as long as they are hosted on YouTube, Loom, or Vimeo. Check it out by going to "Preview" in your Company One-Pager.

Last but not least, we made a myriad of UI and UX changes around the app based on your feedback to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. The most obvious one is renaming "Access Manager" to "Track Views" -- all your analytics are in the same place just under a new name.

Other new features and updates include:

  • Added subtitles and tooltips to most fields in the app
  • Increased deck size upload limit to 25MB
  • Updated the way fundraising round information is displayed in the one-pager
  • Referrals were moved to a new page

Fully revamped access tracking analytics, deck version control, and much more as Flowlie exits Beta period

Happy beginning of Fall! After a productive all-team offsite, we are excited to announce the end of the Flowlie Beta and the launch of our full product suite for founders and investors alike. This is a major update that culminates our work over the past month to deliver you an incredible experience.

For founders, we have expanded the product significantly to create an all-in-one fundraising hub, allowing you to run an efficient process and close your rounds faster. Among the changes is a fully revamped Access Manager tab which now collects view sessions from anyone looking at your one-pager and deck, including anonymous users (if your privacy setting is set to Public). Moreover, we now support full deck version control allowing you to store "change reasons" and remember what you changed with each update. The best part? All view sessions show you the latest deck version seen so you don't have to wonder what did they see ever again.

For investors, we revamped the deck viewer experience making it easier than ever to review new opportunities. We also took a hard look at the UX and improved the Screening and FlowLink tabs making it easier than ever to get started.

As we wrapped up our Beta, some of those features are now gated for Pro subscribers only. Remember that you still have 5 days to benefit from our Early Bird pricing if you subscribe for the full year. Afterward, we will transition to full pricing and allow you to subscribe on a monthly basis.

Other new features and fixes include:

  • Revamped nav bar for founders to make it easier to find the right features
  • Updated language across the app to make settings more clear
  • Brand new deck manager UI with a more intuitive upload deck UX
  • New increased 25 MB deck upload limit
  • Improved time tracking for much more accurate access analytics
  • Device type and location tracking for more comprehensive access analytics
  • Hide the date the round was open from the investor's view
  • Updated the passing workflow UI to make it clear what information is private and what is shared with the founder
  • Fixed an issue allowing improper deck link sharing
  • Fixed an issue impacting the investor-to-investor connection requests
  • Fixed an issue that prevented decks from being viewed properly on mobile devices

As always, our inbox is open for any feedback and suggestions so please send us an email at support@flowlie.com if anything crosses your mind.

Partner Offer Marketplace, new selector options, improved UX, and early bird pricing

Hope you are enjoying a relaxing summer vacation on a sunny tropical beach. At Flowlie, we traded Mojitos for a bunch of platform improvements so you can enjoy an upgraded app when you come back to the office. Here are a few of the updates that went live over the past few weeks:

First and foremost, we have added a new Partner Offer Marketplace for founders where we curate great service providers from our network that can add real value to you and your startup at the right stage of growth. Browse a selection of deals from PR to Deck Building and Reg CF Fundraising that you wouldn't find anywhere else.

Second, we have vastly improved our selector options and are now supporting broader industry coverage, more accelerators, proper entity selections for companies from France, Luxembourg, UAE, and Australia, and much more. Founders and investors can now better describe their deal opportunities while the Fit Scores and other metrics get increasingly more accurate.

Last but not least, we have made a few more steps towards our V1 launch and the official commencement of our Open Beta by allowing users to lock in an early bird price for 12 months if they subscribe before September 1st. This is a great opportunity to benefit from a 45% discount and secure a Pro account.

Other new features and fixes include:

  • Improved sharing alerts for founders
  • Investors can now preview how the FlowLink experience looks like for founders and investors clicking it
  • Fixed an issue that lead to some users receiving the wrong email when their deck was accessed
  • Complete overhaul of all email notifications to improve clarity

Flowlie is now in Open Beta, new Deck tab, simpler UI, better onboarding, and more

So excited to be sharing with you the latest release from the Flowlie team including a big announcement!

First and foremost, Flowlie is now in Open Beta. This means anyone with an internet connection can navigate to https://www.flowlie.com and sign up for free as either a startup founder or an investor. We have been co-building with our users over the past year and it's incredible to see this now being available for all. Remember that for a limited time, all PRO features are available for free. We have also fully refreshed our website to showcase the latest features.

For founders, we have split up the deck management into its own tab to make it more clear and accessible. Over the next weeks, we will be releasing a lot of updates to the deck experience and now they have their own home. From there you can upload a new version of the deck and change the security settings.

For investors, we have reworked the deal detail placing the deck in higher focus, and added a "new version" alert that lets you know if there's a new deck to look at. We have also renamed "Triage" to "Screening" since that's where you... screen incoming deals.

Other new features and fixes include:

  • Improved onboarding language & UX
  • Improved activation tour for startup founders
  • More select options for geography and accelerators
  • Fixes to Google authentication

As always, our inbox is open for any feedback and suggestions so please send us an email at support@flowlie.com if anything crosses your mind.

Investor public profiles, custom connection messages, shorter onboarding forms, and more

We are excited to share with you our latest release including new features, better UX, and fewer bugs.

The investor profile got a complete makeover to better align it with our customer needs. Now, clicking on an Investor FlowLink redirects to a public version of the profile instead of the log in form. The profile's actions are customized depending on whether a founder or a fellow investor is clicking on it. Now, investors can leverage their FlowLinks as smart intake forms, co-investor connection, and link-in-bio. Over the next months we will release more customization options to help you make your profile yours.

Secondly, all connections now support an optional message so founders can add an extra note when pitching an investor and co-investors can remind each other of how they met when requesting to connect with each other. Moreover, each connection request now asks "How did you find me?" for better source tracking across deals and co-investors.

Other new features and fixes include:

  • Improved Access Manager statistics
  • Shorter onboarding form for investors
  • Better display of deal source information for investors
  • Profile photo gets automatically pulled from Google account if using it for sign up
  • Fixes to the onboarding tour for investors
  • Fixes to the waitlist function
  • Fixes to several select options for better usability

As always, our inbox is open for any feedback and suggestions so please send us an email at support@flowlie.com if anything crosses your mind.

Improved filtering, sorting, search, and pagination across the application

We are excited to announce the release of our latest update that provides advanced table filtering, sorting, search and pagination across the application.

Across the app:

  • Users can now easily navigate to a specific page number, making it simpler to find and access the data they need.
  • Additionally, users can modify how many results are displayed per page, allowing for greater flexibility and efficiency in data management.

For Founders:

  • Users can now easily sort and search through a vast database of investors, saving time and effort in their search for the perfect fit investor. The new sorting options allow users to sort investors by criteria such as investment size, name, and industry, while the search function enables users to quickly find specific investors by name or keyword.
  • Access Manager has also been updated to support more sophisticated sorting, filtering and search. It has never been easier to know who, when and for how long did investors look at your deck and profile.

For Investors:

  • Users can now quickly and easily filter and sort through their contacts to identify the most relevant co-investors for their needs. The new filtering options include name, industry, investment thesis, and more.
  • Triage has also been updated to allow for more sophisticated sorting, filtering and search. Screening through deals has never been easier.

We believe these updates will greatly enhance the user experience and make working with data across paginated tables even more productive.

Profile previews, better data, faster loading and more

This week we officially turned 2 years old and we're excited to celebrate this milestone with a number of new features and improvements.

First, startups and investors can now preview their own profile before sending their FlowLink to someone else. This is a great review mechanism just so you're sure you're putting the best foot forward.

Second, a large number of changes were done to startup profiles allowing founders to better represent their companies before sharing their deck and info with investors. From more sophisticated revenue types to more granular user and customer metrics, painting the right story of your startup has never been easier.

Other new features include:

  • URL inputs do not require users to add "https://" anymore
  • Deals should load significantly fasters for investors with very large collections such as "Passed Deals"

Bridge rounds, expanded portfolio tracking, more robust round history and so much more

Happy New Year! The last quarter of 2022 has been packed for our team and today, we are excited to share a lot of new features and improvements with you.

You spoke, and we listened! Bridge rounds are finally coming to Flowlie. A lot of you needed more granular descriptions of your fundraising rounds so starting today founders can open bridge rounds from any primary rounds. Moreover, we expanded the round manager to allow for more term sheet items once one is signed and gave the overall experience a significant UI overhaul. Bonus: Valuation caps can now be set as Pre-Money or Post-Money. If you have an open round, simply click "Update Round" to make any modifications.

Investors, we have not forgotten you. The Portfolio tab received a notable update and now boasts summary KPI cards, board participation, rights, and more. Portfolio has been split into two sub-tabs: the first presenting aggregated data for each company and the new "Investments" sub-tab showcasing each individual investment in all your companies.

Other new features include:

  • A redesigned "Record Investment" experience allowing investors to track all their rights, board participation, and update frequency
  • An expanded "Round History" sub-tab including summary KPI cards at the top giving you a quick snapshot of the previous financings
  • An improved MOIC calculation taking into consideration dilution due to subsequent rounds
  • Performance improvements across the board

Bugs have been squished:

  • Passed deals will now load properly even for those of you who passed on A LOT of deals
  • Long startup names do not break the UI anymore
  • Rounds that were set as "To Be Determined" do not display a Post-Money Cap anymore

Private deal rating, priority sorting, new connections, QR codes, and more

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend and for our non-US users, hope you found some great deals on Black Friday or Cyber Monday! The Flowlie team has been fully operational and packed an incredible amount of new features and updates in this release.

First things first, investors can now add both a private rating as well as a priority level to each of their deals. This way, you can easily keep track of your most promising opportunities and make sure things don't fall through the cracks. Sorting comes standard to help you organize your work even more. The list UI has also been updated to reflect more information at a glance. Let us know if you can spot the difference!

The Investor Contacts tab got a full makeover this time allowing you now to see all your outstanding requests, include messages to each new connection, and even invite people who are not yet on Flowlie, all through the same simple UI - the new "Add Contact" button in the top right corner. If you want to take that back, now you can by pressing the "Cancel" button.

Last, but not least, the FlowLink tab got a new addition that many of you will appreciate: QR codes. Simply tap the QR Code button next to your FlowLink to see your very own. With events coming back in person across the world, pack your deck in a simple scannable image, or, as an investor, allow founders to pitch you by simply scanning your code.

With this release, several other bugs were squished to ensure each user is having a great experience.

A faster app, notification bubbles, better search, and more data at your fingertips

With the sorting functionality launched last month, we took a deeper look at our tables and the way we display and interact with data. As a result of several conversations with our users, we made a number of changes throughout the app to allow you to better see the information that you need the most in the context when you need it the most.

Moreover, by looking at our usage patterns we realized some of you missed connection requests because of the lack of a permanent notification system. We're not yet ready to give you just that but we have made steps towards it by introducing notification bubbles - a simple visual way to signal that you have connection requests or dealshare requests that you have not worked on.

Last, but not least, we underwent a dramatic improvement and update of our infrastructure leading to a smaller and flexible application. Users around the world should experience faster loading times on all pages of our platform, even in situations with low internet.

New features include:

  • Investors can now see new requests at a glance using the notification bubbles in the left side navigation column
  • Search has been improved across the app to take on more parameters leading to better results
  • Triage and Active Dealflow tables have been updated to reflect more information in a better UI
  • For active deals, the header has been updated to reflect more data about the stage the company is in
  • For deals in portfolio, a new investment summary card has been created to show the cummulative information regarding that company
  • Sharing History sub-tabs in each deal have been uppdated to include more data regarding the timing of share and the method of sharing

With this release several other bugs were squished to ensure each user is having a positive experience.

As always, our inbox is open for any feedback and suggestions so please send us an email at support@flowlie.com if anything crosses your mind.

Sorting is now available for investor accounts

Following up on our massive release last month, we rolled into production another feature that was heavily requested by our users: table sorting functionality.

Investors can now sort their Triage, Active Dealflow (list view), Passed Deals, Portfolio and Investor Contacts by most data points available in the table header. We are excited to hear your feedback.

We have also added a total deal counter at the top of the page for your convenience.

With this release several other bugs were squished. That's it for today: a small release but with high impact on investors' workflows.

As always, our inbox is open for any feedback and suggestions so please send us an email at support@flowlie.com if anything crosses your mind.

Dealflow manager, search, product tour for startups, performance improvements, and more

What a summer it has been at Flowlie! Q3 was our biggest quarter to date, significantly growing our userbase, getting feedback from you all, and improving our product. Today, we are super excited to recap our newest features as well as turn on our biggest update yet: dealflow manager.

Investors can now experience a true dealflow manager, with stages, a Kanban board, drag-and-drop, and more. We have been testing it for over a week now and the feedback has been incredible. We are very excited for you to give it a try.

If you thought that was it, we have another big update for you: search is coming to Flowlie. This has been one of the most requested features and is now finally available to our investor accounts. We built it to be super fast and super smart. Just press CMD + / or Ctrl + / if you're on Windows and explore how many ways you can search (hint: type a city, or a founder name).

Public Startup Profiles, Visitors, Personalized Onboarding & More

It's been a while since we launched an update as big as this one but we're for sure as excited as you are to see this in production and hear your feedback. Today we are announcing our biggest feature yet: startup profiles can now be public, soft-gated, or hard-gated allowing visitors who do not have a Flowlie profile to see the deck and a select group of information. As an investor, generating a DealShare Link from a startup profile will inherit the privacy options the founder has set.

As a visitor, you will receive an email to verify it was you so if your email ever gets misused by the wrong person, we'll let the founder know it wasn't you. Our commitment to making Flowlie a secure and trusted place for everyone is as strong today as it was on day one.

Moreover, based on your feedback, we have removed the "Discarded" functionality and replaced it with the existing "Pass".

New features include:

  • Privacy options for startup profiles (public, soft-gated, hard-gated)
  • Paginated deck viewer experience
  • Visitor tracking in Access Manager
  • Visitor email verification
  • Updated Access Manager with deck time statistics
  • Dynamic and personalized onboarding based on who sent you their FlowLink or DealShare Link
  • Expanded startup profiles allowing for new links and financial metrics

Bug fixes include:
